In Love With Your Dimples cdrama Ep 1-3 (Cute Dimples in Love)
Lucky Tang returns to her hometown to start over with an ordinary life. Her boyfriend left her, she quit her job and now she's broke. She meets Lu Zhi Yi. He's a childhood friend but she doesn't know that yet. She also meets He Qi Zhan to whom she shares the house. And lastly, she meets Jason again who also went to the same university as her.
The first scene and the transitions are abrupt. The story has too much going on and all over the place. As early as the first episode I knew I will drop the drama but things turned around by the third episode for me to give it another shot. Besides we are still far off with the heart of the story (total of 24 episodes) and I can live vicariously through Lucky and her town. It is further fueling my longing to move back to my hometown.
No reverse harem romance yet but there a lot of moments between the evident main guy and the girl from Day 1. The drama is hellbent on the two like a child squishing two dolls to kiss. Their scenes tend to get boring. It needs more build-up. I am rooting more on the two brothers. But who am I kidding? Plus iQiyi is being passive-aggressive to promote it if it's reverse harem or not and I'm desperately clinging to label it as one. The older one is hot while the younger one is really nice. Props for the younger guy even though Lucky has no sense of privacy or respect in his rented place.
I don't know whose dimples are they referring to. I didn't notice anyone having dimples? There was a scene where Lucky mentions He Qi Zhan has dimples. Hold my purse. I have to double-check. (UPDATE: Jason has dimples too.)
Watch it on iQiyi.
Princess Sun Wu Hen goes to Xiangxiong for a peacemaking marriage between their two kingdoms. She is then told that she has to marry all five brothers. The first brother is the dominant prime minister. The second brother is the professional (?) general. The third is a businessman while the fourth is an idol (?) The youngest is a 9-year-old genius. Those in question marks are the actual translation but I'm not sure of the accuracy.
This is pure comedy. The setting is ancient times but the jokes are modern. The princess' expression is priceless. But they abuse this type of camera shot until I look forward to it. The 5th son/ child wants to be on it too. Kudos to the heroine who can't be bothered with their shenanigans. No siree. There's a ton of cringe-worthy moments like the general's lack of armor, the King's in-your-face bearing, and more. But it's fine since it's not meant to be taken seriously. And that weird song fits perfectly with the theme.
Only two brothers have shown interest though but I think only one of them is sincere and has a backstory. If this was a western fiction book this would work out just fine sans the fifth brother. But looking at these shady characters I'm all for not marrying anyone at all. There should be more of this trope: To-avoid-bloodshed-I-married-all-brothers! Sounds like a manga or light novel title. Anyway, looking at you Scarlet Heart.
When I posted Levels of Reverse Harem there is only one example under five flowers but by last year I'm seeing a lot of concubines and now husbands. Note to self: must dedicate a future post to this. (Another note to self: You have so many notes that you never work on!)
Watch it on Kukan Drama Channel.
